Role Overview

Sodexo is seeking a Occupancy Planning & Move Management Manager to support our Life Sciences client in Rahway, New Jersey. This leadership role is a key part of our workplace management team, overseeing complex move request activity while guiding both strategic planning and operational execution. The Move Management Manager will be responsible for coordinating across business units, evaluating space requirements, and providing occupancy and utilization analysis to support informed decision-making. In addition, this position carries accountability for move-related budgets, vendor coordination, and resource allocation, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and aligned with client objectives. Acting as a senior partner to the client and internal stakeholders, the Move Management Manager will play a critical role in shaping workplace solutions and driving operational excellence. This is a fully on site position.

What You'll Do

  • Provide strategic oversight of move activity across multiple sites, ensuring seamless execution and minimal business disruption.

  • Partner with business units to intake, review, and prioritize requests, aligning move and space solutions with broader workplace goals.

  • Manage end-to-end move delivery by coordinating internal stakeholders (facilities, IT, HR, safety, CAD) and directing external vendors.

  • Oversee the move budget, including forecasting, expenditure approvals, and financial reporting, while identifying opportunities for savings and efficiency.

  • Deliver space planning and utilization strategies, ensuring compliance with workplace standards, accessibility requirements, and long-term occupancy needs.

  • Act as the primary client point of contact, leading governance meetings, strengthening stakeholder relationships, and driving continuous process improvement.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience, with 5–7 years in facilities, workplace strategy, or project management.
  • Demonstrated success working in highly regulated environments, with experience in pharmaceutical, life sciences, or similarly complex industries preferred.

  • Proven ability to oversee complex move management programs, from strategic planning through execution, while balancing cost, schedule, and quality.
  • Advanced knowledge of space planning, occupancy strategy, and workplace standards, with the ability to guide decision-making at the client level.
  •  Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills, with experience serving as the primary point of contact for senior stakeholders and vendors.

Qualifications & Requirements

Minimum Education Requirement - Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent Minimum Management Experience - 5 years   

Minimum Functional Experience - 3 years experience in a supervisory capacity within construction
