Sodexo’s Campus Segment is seeking an In Unit Controller 3 to join our team at SUNY Plattsburgh in beautiful Plattsburgh, NY.


This role manages all accounting and financial matters for a large, complex university dining account. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive in ensuring financial accuracy and integrity while supporting operational leaders and client relationships. This is a union account with a high-volume operation that requires strong systems knowledge, financial acumen, and excellent communication skills.

What You'll Do

  • Manage all accounting and financial matters for the account, including AP, AR, payroll, and cash management.

  • Examine financial records to verify accuracy of recorded transactions and analyze budgeting trends.

  • Assist in audits, including the implementation of corrective action plans and identifying opportunities for improvement.

  • Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, ensuring accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of financial results.

  • Plan and monitor annual budgets and project-specific financials in partnership with the operational team.

  • Prepare and review financial reports and provide insights to General Managers, District Managers, and Regional leadership.

  • Conduct training for field managers and staff on internal controls, accounting procedures, and Sodexo financial systems.

  • Collaborate closely with clients and Sodexo’s Financial Shared Services Center (FSC) in Buffalo to resolve invoicing, billing, and payment issues.

  • Ensure compliance with company policies, government regulations, and accrediting agency standards.

  • Manage weekly payables, daily cash handling, and credit processes for the operation.

  • Provide ad hoc financial analysis and recommendations to improve profitability and operational efficiency.

What You Bring

  • Financial management or accounting experience, preferably in hospitality, higher education, or contract services.

  • Strong knowledge of GAAP accounting principles and financial reporting processes.

  • High proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, data analysis) and comfort working in multiple financial systems.

  • Experience with Sodexo financial systems or similar enterprise platforms (preferred).

  • Excellent attention to detail, organization, and analytical skills.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to partner effectively across departments and with clients.

  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.

  • Experience in union environments and higher education operations is a plus.

Qualifications & Requirements

Minimum Education Requirement – Associate's Degree or equivalent experience

Minimum Functional Experience – 2 years in accounting, finance or a related field
