Sodexo has an opportunity for an experienced human resources professional to join the team as a Human Resources Manager 2 at University Hospitals located in Cleveland, OH. The HR Manager will provide generalist support to Food Services, Facilities Management, and Environmental Services (EVS) managers, supervisors, and frontline employees.

 

This role will ensure adherence to all Sodexo policies and procedures, with a strong emphasis on employee engagement and retention. Key responsibilities include employee relations, conducting investigations and maintaining documentation, performance and evaluations, labor management, leave of absence and workers compensation administration, as well as recruiting and onboarding new employees. Position focuses on hourly workforce and may or may not include union accounts. The ideal candidate will be an experienced human resources professional with a proactive mindset, high attention to detail, and effective communication skills.

What You'll Do

  • Implement and manage Sodexo’s HR policies and procedures in alignment with hospital standards and contractual obligations as well as educate management and employees on policies and procedures.
  • Handles human resource functions and administration for single unit/account. May include payroll, benefits, training, employee relations, recruiting, safety, etc. Position focuses on hourly workforce.
  • Ensure compliance with labor laws, healthcare regulations, and hospital policies.
  • Collaborate with department heads to assess staffing needs and workforce planning.
  • Support employee development initiatives and career progression opportunities.
  • Maintain accurate HR records and generate regular reports on workforce metrics.
  • Facilitate communication between hospital leadership and staff on HR matters.
  • Promote employee wellness, diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives.
  • Handle disciplinary actions and terminations in accordance with legal and hospital standards.
  • Provide direction to managers and employees on implementation of HR plans, programs, policies, and training. Act as the primary consultant on various HR initiatives.
  • Serve as the HR consultant and work with operations to positively impact business.
  • Perform due diligence for new business initiatives to determine the appropriate HR plans, programs, process, and tools (including compensation, benefits, leadership, staffing, diversity & inclusion) based on financial and legal exposure.
  • Investigate and resolve employee issues and recommend resolutions, based on policy, as appropriate.
  • Involve those necessary based on incidents, HR People Center, legal, etc. If applicable, management of union employees; understanding of all contract rules/policies and management of arbitration. Involvement of contract negotiations.

What You Bring

  • Extensive background in human resources management 
  • Understand and respect sensitive and confidential information.
  • Experience managing HR/Administrative support team members.
  • Excellent computer skills with proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office programs.
  • Knowledge of and oversight of all Federal, State and Local laws regarding human resources.
  • Detailed oriented, flexible, and have ability to manage competing priorities and meet time demands; and/or
  • Excellent organization, communication, and project management skills.

Qualifications & Requirements

Minimum Education Requirement - Associate's Degree or equivalent experience
Minimum Management Experience - 2 years
Minimum Functional Experience – 1 year of HR experience
