Role Overview

Sodexo is hiring for an Executive Chef 2 at Wilmington Hospital, located in Wilmington, DE.  This is a 350 bed hospital, and serves as ChristianCare's corporate headquarters.  The Executive Chef 2 will lead a team of culinarians, and support food services for patient meals, catering, and retail areas.

 

ChristianaCare is a nonprofit teaching health system with more than 300 residents and fellows. With its groundbreaking Center for Virtual Health and a focus on population health and value-based care, ChristianaCare is shaping the future of health care.



Sodexo offers a range of services to healthcare facilities, including food, nutrition, environmental, facilities management, healthcare technology management, retail, and patient experience services. What You'll Do

  • lead a team of culinarians to provide high quality meals and food service
  • maintain food and health & safety logs within Sodexo and hospital guidelines and requirements
  • effectively coach, mentor, and train staff
  • prepare orders and maintain appropriate inventory
  • bring innovative and fresh ideas for retail, catering and patient services
  • cultivate effective interpersonal relationships with patients, customers, and clients in hospital

What You Bring

  • strong knowledge of HACCP
  • high end catering and dining experience and a passion for culinary arts
  • a production culinary background, ideally in a fast paced environment:  up-scale restaurant/retail/catering 
  • Healthcare experience preferred
  •  culinary training and certifications/education is a plus

Qualifications & Requirements

Minimum Education Requirement - Associate's Degree or equivalent experience
Minimum Management Experience - 2 years
Minimum Functional Experience - 2 years work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts, etc.
