Role Overview

Sodexo Senior Living is seeking a Chef Manager for our dining operations at Woodland Pond, a 350 resident continuing care retirement community located in New Paltz, New York. The Chef Manager is a hands-on position and will cook daily.  Will oversee the food production serving all levels of care (lunch and dinner).  Will report to the General Manager and will assist with managing up to 25 employees per shift. Typical shift will be 11:30am -8:00pm, may vary with one weekend day per week and some holidays.

What You'll Do

  • assist with overseeing the daily food production for all levels of care; 
  • cook daily as needed;
  • oversee ordering and inventory;
  • schedule staff;
  • maintain HACCP logs; 
  • assist with catering functions; 
  • exceed Sodexo standards for Gold Checks and achieve successful regulatory inspections and audits; and/or
  • perform functions that include direct supervision of hourly associates including employee development.

What You Bring

  • prior food service management experience ideally in a senior living / healthcare environment;
  • strong cooking skills;
  • knowledge of therapeutic diets is helpful; 
  • knowledge of HACCP, safety and sanitation;
  • passion for our residents and customers to ensure our Sodexo CARES (Compassion, Accountability, Respect, Enthusiasm and Service) behaviors are followed daily;
  • excellent leadership and communication skills with the ability to maintain the highest of standards and implement company policies.
