Role Overview

Sodexo is seeking a Food Service Manager 2 for Newark Beth Israel Medical Center in Newark, NJ.

 

This is a long-term account with stability and room for growth. The Food Service Manager 2 for this location will manage and develop a team of approximately 40-50 union, front-line staff. The ideal candidate for this role must be well organized and possess strong leadership skills. Previous experience in a high-volume facility with placing orders, inventory management, patient rounding, and hands-on healthcare operations experience as an opening and or closing supervisor in a food service environment would be a plus for this role.

What You'll Do

Have oversight of the patient services area, production, and diet office.

Ensure excellence in service quality and delivery schedules
Work with the diet office to review and address any patient menu/meal concern

Daily patient meal rounding 

Identify process improvement initiatives and oversee the implementation

Employee training for compliance, safety, sanitation, customer service and HR Functions

What You Bring

Possess at least 2 years food management experience with a focus on purchasing, inventory, food cost analysis and food production forecasting;
Have working knowledge of automated food inventory, ordering, production and management systems.

Ensure food safety, sanitation and workplace safety standard compliance; 
Focus on patient services and satisfaction;
Have a strong working knowledge of food safety and sanitation guidelines;
Have a commitment to quality and customer service;
Have excellent leadership and communication skills;
