Role Overview

InReach is seeking a Food Service Manager

 

The Food Service Manager is responsible for leading culinary operations and delivering exceptional dining experiences. This role combines creative menu development, high-end catering expertise, and operational leadership to ensure quality, innovation, and customer satisfaction. The Food Service Manager oversees kitchen operations, staff management, budgeting, and compliance with safety and sanitation standards.

What You'll Do

  • Design innovative menus that reflect the account’s personality and create memorable dining experiences.
  • Develop new dishes for events and occasions to encourage repeat customer engagement.
  • Plan, coordinate, and execute high-end catering events with precision and creativity.
  • Maintain kitchen equipment, inventory, and hygiene standards exceeding HACCP requirements.
  • Organize and manage budgets, pricing, and vendor purchasing.
  • Lead and motivate front- and back-of-house staff, including hiring, training, and scheduling.
  • Review staffing levels regularly and coordinate additional coverage for vacations or special events.
  • Prepare weekly menus, daily specials, and oversee all internal catering events.
  • Execute vendor orders and manage related paperwork and deposits.
  • Participate in culinary meetings, operational reviews, and weekly departmental calls.
  • Collaborate with the Area General Manager to analyze labor and operational reports.

What You Bring

  • Illinois Certified Sanitation License.
  • Associate degree in Culinary Arts.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in the restaurant and food service industry.
  • Proven expertise in high-end catering and event execution.
  • Strong leadership and team-building skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to deliver client presentations.
  • Highly organized with experience managing budgets and operations.
  • In-depth knowledge of HACCP safety and sanitation programs.
