Sodexo is seeking an (Outpatient) Registered Dietitian to join their dynamic team in Bariatrics. PIH Health Hospital in Whittier, CA, is a 523 licensed-bed acute care hospital located near Los Angeles, CA. PIH Health Whittier is a Bariatric Center of Excellence and has been named a "Great Place to Work"!

What You'll Do

  • Participate in interdisciplinary patient rounding and meetings as a valued member of the Bariatric Surgery team, will participate in interdisciplinary team meetings
  • Provide outpatient care with some flexibility in the schedule
  • Teach group classes on a weekday evening
  • Be a patient advocate and take initiative
  • Documentation is required in the All Scripts program

What You Bring

  • A Registered Dietitian credential with prior experience specializing in outpatient metabolic and bariatric surgery, or willing to learn
  • A CDCES or CDCES-eligible is preferred, but not required 
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, bilingual in Spanish and English preferred
  • Excellent time management skills, be a self-starter, and a team player
  • The ability to work well with physicians, nurses, and ancillary staff

Qualifications & Requirements

Minimum Education Requirement:

Master's degree with completion of required coursework and supervised practice as dictated by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND) 

For those eligible for the registration exam prior to 1/1/24:

Bachelor's degree with completion of required coursework and supervised practice as dictated by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND) 

 

Credentials Requirement:

Meets eligibility requirements for Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RD/RDN) by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) and will become registered within 120 days of hire.  In some states and/or facilities the RD/RDN credentials is required at the time of hire
Certification/licensure as required by state(s) of practice. In some states and/or facilities state certification/licensure is required at the time of hire
