Role Overview

Sodexo is currently seeking a dynamic Executive Chef 2 to join our culinary team at Deerfield Episcopal Retirement Community in Asheville, North Carolina.  Deerfield situated in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains of western North Carolina, and close to downtown Asheville with shops, restaurants and entertainment. 

 

This Executive Chef will report to our Executive Chef 3 and assist with leading a team of approximately 50 employees.  This position will oversee all aspects of food production, quality assurance, safety, and service. The ideal candidate will have strong sanitation knowledge along with high-volume dining experience.  Typical shift is 10:00 am - 6:30pm with alternating weekend coverage.

What You'll Do

  • oversee daily operations of the kitchen;
  • ensure safety and sanitation guidelines are followed;
  • assist with ordering and inventory; 
  • ensure Sodexo Culinary Standards including recipe compliance and food quality;
  • mentor and train cooks.

Qualifications & Requirements

Minimum Education Requirement - Associate's Degree or equivalent experience
Minimum Management Experience - 2 years
Minimum Functional Experience - 2 years work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts, etc.
