Role Overview

Sodexo has an opportunity for a Pastry Sous Chef to support a High-End Corporate Client that rapidly growing. This role focuses on creating and baking a variety of desserts and pastries, developing new recipes, and ensuring high-quality presentation. It also includes leading hands-on pastry classes, hosting seasonal pop-ups, and designing pastries for catering events that highlight regional or seasonal themes. 

What You'll Do

  • Prepare and Bake: Create a wide range of desserts, pastries, and baked goods, following both traditional and modern recipes.
  • Recipe Development: Innovate and develop new recipes to enhance the menu and engage customers.
  • Decoration and Presentation: Decorate pastries and desserts to ensure they are visually appealing and meet quality standards.
  • Lead Chef Test Kitchen Classes - hands on class showing guests to make a specific pastry item
  • Onsite Pop Ups -showcase a seasonal item and interact with guests
  • Catering - design creating pastries for catering events highlighting a specific region or season

What You Bring

  • 2+ years of experience as Pastry Chef for high volume dining and high end catering
  • Strong leadership ability and successful supervisory  background
  • Proven Culinary knowledge: purchasing, inventory, production schedules and cost controls
  • Passion for food and innovation
  • Ability to think out of the box

Qualifications & Requirements

Minimum Education Requirement - Associate's Degree or equivalent experience
Minimum Management Experience - 2 years
Minimum Functional Experience - 2 years work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts, etc.
