Lead Culinary Excellence in Healthcare – Executive Chef Opportunity at Bridgeport Hospital
Sodexo is seeking an experienced Executive Chef 3 to lead culinary operations at Bridgeport Hospital, a 300+ bed acute care facility with a strong commitment to patient care and hospitality.
This highly visible leadership role oversees culinary production for patient bedside dining and retail food services, ensuring exceptional quality, safety, and operational excellence across all dining programs.
Bridgeport Hospital features a patient bedside dining program along with multiple retail outlets including a main cafeteria, lobby café, and Micro Market.
The Executive Chef 3 will report directly to the Area General Manager and will lead and develop a team of 15–20 culinary professionals.

Key responsibilities include:
Overseeing all culinary production for patient dining and retail food service operations
Leading and developing a team of 15–20 culinary staff members
Designing and implementing menus for patient and retail dining programs
Managing inventory, purchasing, and food cost controls
Ensuring compliance with HACCP, sanitation, and food safety standards
Maintaining the highest standards of food quality, presentation, and service delivery
Supporting staff development through training, coaching, and career ladder progression
Collaborating with hospital leadership and operational teams to enhance dining services
Monitoring kitchen operations to ensure efficiency and consistency across all meal services

Previous Executive Chef experience in a hospital or healthcare environment
Experience managing high-volume food production
Proven expertise in menu development and culinary innovation
Strong knowledge of inventory management and cost control
Experience developing and mentoring culinary teams
Knowledge of HACCP, food safety, and sanitation standards
Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced healthcare environment

Minimum Education Requirement - Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
Minimum Management Experience - 3 years
Minimum Functional Experience - 3 years work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts, etc.
