The General Manager - Catering leads a vibrant, multi-unit corporate catering and dining operation in Rahway, NJ, delivering an exceptional guest experience built on culinary excellence, hospitality, and innovation. This role oversees a sophisticated catering program and café services while cultivating strong client partnerships and shaping a dynamic, modern food program centered on high-touch event execution. As this client is part of a Global Strategic Account, the GM plays a critical role in upholding elevated standards, aligning with global expectations, and ensuring a seamless, world-class service experience across all catered events and daily operations.
The GM drives financial performance, inspires and develops diverse teams, and ensures flawless execution with a heavy emphasis on catering logistics and premium service delivery. This position calls for a strategic, hands-on leader who thrives in a fast-paced, high-expectation environment and is passionate about elevating workplace dining and special events through creativity, operational excellence, and a commitment to outstanding service.
Leads daily operations across multiple venues, ensuring a consistently elevated guest experience through culinary excellence and precision in catering service.
Builds and maintains strong client partnerships by proactively anticipating event needs and delivering catering solutions that exceed high-profile expectations.
Inspires and mentors a diverse team, fostering a culture of professional accountability, hospitality, and continuous improvement across all service areas.
Drives financial performance through effective budgeting, forecasting, and strategic cost control to maximize the profitability of the catering program.
Ensures full compliance with food safety regulations and Sodexo standards to maintain a "Gold Standard" environment across the entire dining program.
Champions innovation by identifying opportunities to enhance menus and service models, ensuring the catering program remains vibrant and relevant in a fast-paced environment.
