Sodexo is seeking a Catering Manager 3 for a unique opportunity supporting the catering department at the Sheppard Pratt Health System. Sheppard Pratt Health System (SPHS) in Baltimore, Maryland, the largest non-profit provider of mental health, substance use, special education, developmental disabilities, and social services in the country. SPHS has been consistently ranked as a top national psychiatric hospital by U.S. News & World Report for the past 28 years. This position will cover two locations; Towson and Ellicott City.  

 

Experience managing multi-site catering operations and delivering high-level client service is strongly preferred!

 

MUST be able to pass a motor vehicle background check

What You'll Do

The Catering Manager 3 will oversee catering operations across multiple locations on campus. This role requires strong communication skills and executive presence, as the individual will interact regularly with senior-level executives and key stakeholders. 

 

This role requires a very hands on leader who can:

  • successfully manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment
  • Technologically Savvy- proficent with computers
  • serve as the primary point of contact for clients, ensuring seamless execution of events from planning through delivery
  • oversee catering operations across multiple sites and requires daily trave
  • have high expectations for customer service and quality of food;
  • have the ability and willingness to develop and train front-line employees;
  • have a passion for food and innovation;
  • have knowledge of special diets and allergens; and

What You Bring

The successful candidate will:

  • strong operational experience managing catering events up to 100 people, including hands-on involvement in execution
  • have a strong organizational skillset
  • comfortable organziing, executing and breaking down caterings
  • comfortable potentially stepping in and helping with food preparation
  • excellent leadership and communication skills with the ability to maintain the highest of standards and implements company policies;
  • previous experience working in a high volume facility; and
  • strong management skills.

Qualifications & Requirements

Minimum Education Requirement - Associate's Degree or equivalent experience
Minimum Management Experience - 2 years
Minimum Functional Experience – 1 year work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts, etc.
