Role Overview

Sodexo is seeking a seasoned and strategic General Manager 6 to lead district-wide food service operations for Providence Public Schools in Providence, RI. This high-profile leadership role oversees meal programs across 35 school locations, ensuring full compliance with the USDA School Nutrition Programs while delivering nutritious, high-quality meals that support student health and academic success. The GM6 will serve as a trusted partner to district leadership and state agencies, driving operational excellence, fiscal stewardship, and continuous improvement. With accountability for budgets, procurement, staffing, participation growth, and regulatory reporting, this leader will guide a multi-site management team, optimize program efficiency, and strengthen community and school partnerships that elevate the overall impact of the district’s nutrition services.

What You'll Do

  • Lead and oversee food service operations across multiple K–12 school locations to ensure strong financial, operational, and client outcomes.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for a complex, multi-unit account, ensuring alignment with client goals and Sodexo standards.
  • Provide purposeful leadership, coaching, and development to the team.
  • Drive strategic initiatives, manage budgets, and ensure compliance with all policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Build strong internal and external relationships, influencing without authority to advance business objectives.
  • Manage multiple priorities and projects

What You Bring

  • Proven ability to lead multi-site operations within a complex environment.
  • Experience with K12 USDA school nutrition programs is preferred, including compliance with federal meal pattern and regulatory requirements.
  • Strong financial acumen, with experience in budgeting and performance management.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and project management skills.
  • Demonstrated success in influencing stakeholders at all levels.
  • A Bachelor's degree and a valid DL are required
  • Talent management expertise, including coaching and developing teams

Qualifications & Requirements

Minimum Education Requirement - Bachelor’s degree

Minimum Management Experience - 5 years

Minimum Functional Experience - 4 years’ experience in management of school nutrition programs
