Role Overview

Sodexo - Seniors has a current Chef Manager opportunity at Carroll Lutheran Village located in Westminster, Maryland. This is a large upscale continuing care retirement community serving over 600 residents.  The Chef Manager will oversee the daily kitchen operations for the healthcare residents and manage a staff of approximately 15 hourly employees.  Typical shift will be 10am-6pm with every other weekend rotation. Ability to motivate staff to achieve a high-level of customer satisfaction.  Previous healthcare or senior living experience highly preferred.

What You'll Do

  • oversee daily operations of the kitchen (trayline and dining room service);
  • perform tray assessments to ensure food quality, temperature and tray accuracy;
  • handle food ordering and inventory;
  • develop and maintain client and customer relationships;
  • perform functions that include direct supervision of hourly associates including employee development.

What You Bring

  • working knowledge of HACCP protocols for regulatory compliance;
  • food production and catering experience, preferably in senior living/healthcare setting;
  • notable culinary skills with homestyle, scratch cooking, as well as other creative dishes;
  • hands-on experience with inventory management, and online ordering;
  • ability to train & develop employees;
  • ability to uphold Sodexo Culinary Standards; recipe compliance and food quality;
  • experience in labor and food cost controls and compliance.
