Sodexo is seeking a Food Operations Manager (Healthcare) to join our team at Yale New Haven Hospital – York Street Campus in New Haven, Connecticut, a nationally recognized academic medical center known for excellence in patient care and innovation.

 

This is an exciting opportunity for a service-driven leader to oversee patient service operations, support diet office and menu operations, and help elevate the patient dining experience in a complex healthcare environment. This role partners closely with Patient Experience Managers, clinical teams, and frontline staff to drive operational excellence, patient satisfaction, and regulatory success.

What You'll Do

  • Lead and support daily patient services operations, ensuring high-quality meal service and operational consistency
  • Oversee diet office operations, menu processes, and support specialized diet compliance
  • Evaluate and develop service levels across the Patient Services Program to exceed patient and customer satisfaction goals
  • Support Sodexo’s Patient Dining Program, including daily meal rounding and service recovery efforts
  • Collaborate with clinical, food service, and interdisciplinary teams to enhance the patient experience
  • Perform tray assessments to ensure food quality, presentation, and meal accuracy
  • Drive achievement of key performance indicators (KPIs), budget adherence, and operational goals
  • Support successful Gold Checks, regulatory inspections, and audit readiness
  • Provide direct supervision, coaching, and development of frontline hourly employees
  • Foster a culture of compassion, accountability, and service excellence through Sodexo CARES behaviors

What You Bring

  • Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to maintain high standards and implement policies effectively
  • Passion for delivering an exceptional patient and customer experience
  • Experience in healthcare food service or patient dining operations
  • Knowledge of nutrition, therapeutic diets, and diet office functions
  • Experience collaborating with nursing and interdisciplinary teams
  • Strong people leadership skills with experience developing and engaging frontline teams
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced healthcare environment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Oversight of diet office operations preferred

  • Experience with patient satisfaction initiatives, meal rounding, and service recovery preferred

  • Healthcare management experience strongly preferred

Qualifications & Requirements

Minimum Education Requirement - Associate's Degree or equivalent experience
Minimum Management Experience - 2 years
Minimum Functional Experience - 2 years work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts, etc.
