Sodexo is seeking a Food Operations Manager (Healthcare) to support a New York City Health + Hospitals acute care facility in New York City.

 

This is an exciting opportunity for a hands-on, service-driven leader to support a 24/7, 365-day healthcare food operation serving approximately 1,200 meals daily across three meal periods. Reporting to the General Manager, this highly visible role plays a key part in supporting daily operations, ensuring regulatory compliance, driving team performance, and delivering an exceptional patient and customer experience.

What You'll Do

  • Support the General Manager in oversight of daily food service operations in a complex acute care setting
  • Help lead a 24/7 operation serving approximately 1,200 meals daily
  • Support labor management, staffing, scheduling, payroll, and new hire processes
  • Manage operational priorities while helping achieve company and client financial targets
  • Monitor labor costs, cash controls, productivity, and operational performance
  • Support achievement of high-quality patient and customer satisfaction outcomes
  • Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, workplace safety, and contract standards
  • Support audit readiness and successful performance on regular inspections and surveys
  • Foster a positive work environment focused on employee engagement and accountability
  • Build strong client relationships and serve as a trusted operational partner
  • Help ensure Sodexo standards are met or exceeded across all aspects of service delivery

What You Bring

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Leadership experience in healthcare food service
  • Strong supervisory skills and the ability to be a hands-on leader
  • Experience with labor management, payroll, scheduling, and staffing processes
  • Knowledge of cash controls, labor cost management, and financial acumen
  • Strong understanding of food safety, sanitation, compliance, and workplace safety standards
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with clients, customers, and staff
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic, high-accountability environment
  • Passion for customer service and a commitment to operational excellence
  • Flexibility, compassion, and a collaborative leadership style

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in a union and healthcare environment preferred

  • Experience supporting regulatory audits and survey readiness strongly preferred

  • Knowledge of Sodexo systems and food management tools is a plus

Qualifications & Requirements

Minimum Education Requirement - Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience

Minimum Management Experience - 3 years   

Minimum Functional Experience - 3 years work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts, etc.
