Food Operations Manager 1 – WVU Medicine Uniontown Hospital | Uniontown, PA 

 

Sodexo is seeking a Food Operations Manager to join our healthcare team at WVU Medicine Uniontown Hospital in Uniontown, Pennsylvania.

 

WVU Medicine Uniontown Hospital is a 145-bed acute care community hospital serving the region with more than 1,000 employees and over 200 medical staff representing 30+ specialties. In 2024, the hospital was recognized by The Hospital and Healthsystem Association of Pennsylvania (HAP) with an Achievement Award for its commitment to patient safety and workforce engagement.

 

This is an exciting opportunity for an energetic and hands-on leader looking to grow their career within healthcare food service operations while making a meaningful impact on the patient experience.

What You'll Do

  • Support daily food service and catering operations within a fast-paced healthcare environment
  • Assist with unit financials, budgeting, and strategic planning initiatives
  • Lead, train, and develop both frontline and management employees
  • Ensure compliance with HACCP, food safety, and sanitation standards
  • Partner directly with hospital leadership and client teams
  • Oversee approximately 40 frontline employees
  • Support operational excellence and customer satisfaction initiatives

What You Bring

  • Strong leadership and supervisory experience
  • Culinary production background and food safety knowledge
  • Experience managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to lead collaboratively and build strong teams
  • Experience with Sodexo Food Management Systems (FMS) and The Market Connection (TMC) preferred
  • Strong computer and reporting skills

Qualifications & Requirements

Minimum Education Requirement - Associate's Degree or equivalent experience
Minimum Management Experience - 2 years
Minimum Functional Experience – 1 year work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts, etc.
