Role Overview

Sodexo Universities Facilities segment is seeking a Facilities Manager to support our longstanding facilities contract at University of Tampa covering 4M sq ft and 110 acres in Tampa, FL.  There is more to Tampa’s location than beautiful beaches, the Tampa Bay area offers diverse activity including sports, culture and entertainment. 

Reporting to the Facilities Operations Manager, this new role will oversee a staff of 6 - 10 maintenance, custodial and grounds employees

What You'll Do

  • manage the day-to-day facilities operations, ensuring the highest level of service quality while actively mentoring and developing of the facilities team
  • ensure high quality, service, and problem resolution while managing quality assurance and safety programs
  • ensure compliance with all company safety and risk management policies and procedures
  • evaluate, identify, and implement new ideas, technologies or process improvements to increase organizational efficiencies and cost savings
  • Supervises hourly staff providing facilities maintenance and engineering services to clients.
  • Responsible for work force planning, QA training, and administrative functions of the designated area of supervision.

What You Bring

  • A proven track record of successful Integrated Facilities Management leadership experience including maintenance, housekeeping, and construction/project management.
  • 5+ years of Facilities management experience preferably in a university setting or other large complex properties.
  • knowledge in the Building and Mechanical Trades to include mechanical, plumbing, HVAC, electrical, Carpentry, etc. and strong background in training and developing the team.
  • exceptional customer service, relationship building and communication skills.
  • experience working with outside vendors and subcontractors.
  • strong leadership skills with a focus on staff development and team building.
  • Solid experience utilizing Computerized Maintenance Management systems for work orders and reporting and Building Automated Systems for large equipment.
