Lead Retail Dining at One of New York City's Most Recognized Healthcare Institutions

 

Sodexo is seeking a Retail Manager 2 – Food to join our team at NYC Health + Hospitals/Bellevue in New York City. This exciting opportunity will support Bellevue's new retail dining concept, EAT Café, a modern café designed to serve hospital employees, visitors, and the surrounding community.

 

This is an ideal role for a hands-on retail leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about customer service, employee engagement, and operational excellence.

 

The Retail Manager 2 will report directly to the General Manager and oversee a team of approximately 20 union frontline employees while supporting all aspects of daily retail operations.

What You'll Do

  • Oversee daily retail food service operations for EAT Café
  • Lead, coach, train, and develop approximately 20 union frontline employees
  • Ensure exceptional customer service and a welcoming guest experience
  • Manage scheduling, labor, inventory, and operational performance
  • Monitor food quality, merchandising, and presentation standards
  • Maintain compliance with Sodexo standards, HACCP guidelines, food safety regulations, and sanitation requirements
  • Partner with culinary, operations, and hospital leadership to drive continuous improvement
  • Promote a culture of accountability, teamwork, and service excellence

What You Bring

  • Prior retail food service management experience required
  • Healthcare retail food service experience strongly preferred
  • Experience leading frontline teams in high-volume environments
  • Union leadership experience preferred
  • Strong customer service and employee engagement skills
  • Experience with scheduling, labor management, inventory control, and financial accountability
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced healthcare environment
