Do you want to be part of a food program that is innovative and leveraging sustainable resources? Sodexo is seeking a Sous Chef for Tufts Medical Center located in Boston, MA.  We are looking for an experienced culinarian who is ready to take the next step in their career.  In this role you will report to the Food Operations Manager, while supporting the retail side of business at the medical center.  Ready for some work-life balance that you can't always achieve in restaurants or catering environments?  This role is primarily Monday-Friday, mostly daytime hours, however it will also require the individual to have the flexibility to cover occassional weekends to support catering and/or patient services needs as they arise.  This location of the medical center is located right on the orange line for public transportation. In this role you will: - manage the daily food production needs and work as a hands-on chef in the kitchen- ensure Sodexo's culinary standards including recipe compliance and food quality- manage food costing, controls and compliance- develop menus and manage inventory- develop and train frontline employees- maintain food and safety logs- knowledge of Sodexo Food Management System (FMS) is preferred. The ideal candidate has:- a strong culinary background, with demonstrated experience staying current with culinary trends- excellent leadership and communication skills with a deep focus on superior customer service- previous experience working in a high volume facility/setting such as restaurants, banquet halls, or busy corporate dining settings- experience maintaining health and safety logs and knowledge of food safety requirements- strong understanding of financials (labor and materials cost)- a passion for food and innovation  Tufts Medical Center, part of Tufts Medicine, is an internationally-respected academic medical center – a teaching hospital where they pride themselves not only in the sophistication of the care they provide but the compassionate way in which they provide it.
