Sodexo is seeking an Executive Chef 2 to oversee all culinary operations at TWO University accounts in Iowa - officing out of William Penn University in Oskaloosa, IA and splitting time equally between William Penn and Iowa Wesleyan University in Mount Pleasant, IA - less than one hour apart. As a hands-on Executive Chef, you will provide innovative, exciting and appealing cooking and catering for students, faculty and staff. This individual will come highly recommended as a skilled and experienced culinarian with a passion for food and the drive to be successful. This Executive Chef will report to the General Manager at William Penn University - just an hour from Des Moines! Combined enrollment is 900 students on meal plans for Resident Dining, Retail offerings through Coffee Shops and C-Stores for Grab and Go items. While Catering is currently limited due to COVID19 restrictions, once restrictions are released you can expect Catering for University activities to include High end and High volume events, holiday parties, graduation events, awards banquets, etc. William Penn has strong network within the community for business catering and Iowa Wesleyan has community catering events on campus. The successful candidate will:- be responsible for purchasing, menu compliance, inventory, food cost analysis and food production forecasting; - ensure Sodexo Culinary standards including recipe compliance and food quality are implemented;- have the ability and willingness to develop and motivate team members to embrace culinary innovations; - ensure food safety, sanitation and workplace safety standard compliance; and/or- have working knowledge of automated food inventory, ordering, production and management systems.
