Sodexo seeks a qualified Unit Safety Manager 2 in Houston, TX.  This manager provides support for frontline staff, supervisors and operations along with other contractors and sub-contractors on site.  Experience working in an office environment at a refinery location with administrative building/services and processing center.  You will interact with Sodexo's management team, and various client employees on operational matter with discretion and escalating when required. This includes but is not limited to leading or attending safety huddles, conducting new hire and refresher training, maintaining safety equipment such as AEDs, GFCIs, and eyewash stations, reviewing and entering SOSs into the tracking tool, attend contractor meetings, lead safety moments as requested, maintain SDSs, assist in incident investigations, maintaining the training tracking tool, assisting in documentation of completed training records and other pertinent documents.Responsibilities include but not limited to:- Attend daily safety huddles with housekeeping.- Attend weekly safety huddles with vendors.- Attend monthly huddle with vendors.- Conduct site specific training for all personnel working at this location - annually Contractors and Sodexo employees.- Issue Permits (if trained).- Conduct Safety Moment during various Contractor meetings.- Each conduct 2 V&Vs each month on sub-contractors.- Attend other contractor Safety Huddles once a month- Safety Award - Go the entire month without incidents, environmental spills, property damage, all SOSs turned in before the end of the month, all training is current, no RSI compliance issues- Send out weekly safety huddles to each department on Fridays. - Monthly do a GFCI check on all pigtails and make entry into log book. Report issues to HSE Manager and help with the solution.- Review Training Tracker and update with completed training dates and documentation.- Monthly check of eyewash stations.- Be the HSE point of contact for the Safety Committee DT - arrange the monthly meetings with the assistance of the Safety Committee Chairman- Conduct new hire training. - Enter SOSs into the spreadsheet and work with management to maintain 100% participation.- Visibility and providing support to operations.- Provide Support to other client locations as requested.- Attend Safety Huddles for mailroom and shipping and receiving throughout the week to provide visibility.- Assist in incident investigation.- Work with supervisors to address workplace incidents or concerns- Work overtime as needed when there are subcontractors onsite- Conduct Bi-monthly Chemical Inventory.
