The position also supports the monthly Financial Close and quarterly Financial Management reporting process. The position provides customer support to all Business areas and Senior Management levels throughout the Finance organization. The position also reviews / oversees more complex account reconciliations and ensures the Sodexo North America General Ledger and Financial Statements are in compliance with International Financial Reporting Standards(IFRS).  Requires strong Communication skills as many tasks of the position involve communicating/collaborating with other Finance teams / Sr Leaders.  The successful candidate will:- Ensure Sodexo North America General Ledger and Financial Statements are in compliance with International Financial Reporting Standards(IFRS) and industry accounting and reporting requirements.- Lead / and or support various scale projects and key Finance initiatives  - Provide Controllership function for newly implemented IFRS16 Lease Accounting standard.  Balance Sheet accounting has assumed the ownership and oversight of the Planon Lease Accounting software so Lease Accounting responsibilities include:- Subject Matter Expert Status on Lease transactions within Planon and SAP.- North American (NORAM) point of contact for IFRS16 and lease accounting related questions.- Monthly accounting close (See Section 2 below).- Support for the teams responsible for the four classes of leases in NORAM – Fleet Vehicles, Real Estate, Concessions Contracts, and Other Equipment.- Support for Centerplate lease team.- IFRS16 Financial Reporting (monthly, quarterly, annually) for the following:- Monthly cash flows- Semi-annual budgeting- Group IFRS16 requests- Tax department annual provision and tax filings- Monthly Accounting Close- Ensure teams have recorded all monthly activity into Planon each month.- Run Validations on Planon contracts and data prior to monthly close process within the software- Run Journal entry report out of Planon and Import JE’s into SAP using IFRS16 function- Validating results once imported into SAP, including total records and account balance totals.- Compile monthly rent reconciliation file for lease teams to analyze during accounting close.- Perform analytics on monthly lease activity to validate expenses (depreciation and interest).- Work with Group Lease team to perform procedures to prepare Planon for final monthly close.- Review higher level complexity Account reconciliations. Use technical accounting knowledge and formal accounting guidance to ensure proper accounting and reporting treatment.- Support Accounting conversions and integrations  - Coordinate monthly Financial Close Debrief meeting with all Business and I&T area representatives (Involves formalized tracking of all issues which occurred during financial close. Root causes, resolution and go forward preventive measures needed and implemented are discussed among the Business Management and I&T teams.)- Monthly Financial Close tasks  (Payroll Accounts review, Interest, Prelim Trial Balance GL account variance explanations, Prepare various financial adjustments)- Mid-year and Year End Review of significant financial adjustments for awareness / prelim projection purposes (work with FP&A team), Run queries to capture all JE's > $250k, review to determine if recurring or not, explain JE's- Run queries at Year End to capture all P&L JE's during extended close days and summarize by Segment, P&L impact. Work with FP&A for JE projection purposes - Provide training and support to staff- Provide customer support to various Management levels throughout the Finance Business areas (FP&A, FSS Dept’s, Technical accounting VP, Other)Is this the right opportunity for you?  We are looking for candidates that have/are:- Bachelors of Science Degree in Accounting preferred- 4 – 6 years demonstrated in-depth Accounting experience preferred- CPA preferred- Strong technical accounting and analytical skills- Strong Proficiency with Software Applications, I&T Applications- Must be able to take initiative with new projects that arise and coordinate from start to finish with minimal involvement / direction from management- Must have high degree of initiative and be willing to work in fast paced, collaborative team environment with a demonstrated customer service orientation.- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and interpersonal skills with ability to effectively communicate throughout the Finance organization and with all levels of management such as Corporate Controller’s group, Financial Planning & Analysis, Division Finance, Operations Accounting, Corporate Income Tax, Benefits, third party Vendors such as ADP(payroll Service provider), etc.- Excellent computer skills with ability to accumulate, evaluate, and interpret accounting data and provide concise executive summaries using PowerPoint & Excel that translates highly technical financial information for non-technical audiences.- Demonstrated knowledge of large, sophisticated accounting systems required. Strong working knowledge of Sodexo systems and tools for standard data analysis and Ad Hoc reporting (i.e. SAP, ACL, Essbase, EDW, COLD, BI Query, etc.)- Strong technical, analytical and problem solving skills.- Must be able to meet strict deadlines.- Ability to lead within a team environment with a high degree of initiativeAt Sodexo, we believe every employee should have the resources to be their best.
